Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel laureate and writer, composed India’s National Anthem and won the Nobel Prize for 'Geetanjali' in 1913.
Ans. Rabindranath Tagore Rabindranath Tagore was a poet and writer. He was known as Gurudev. He was born on 7th May 1861 in Kolkata. His father's name was Maharshi Devendranath Tagore and mother's name was Sharda Devi. He took his education at school and then he went to England for further studies.He wrote many stories in childhood. He wrote many poems, short stories, essays, dramas, novels and songs. He also wrote the National Anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' of our country. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Geetanjali in 1913. He died on 7th August 1941 in Kolkata. He was very famous all around the world.
