Hooghly, September 21: In an exemplary display of social benevolence, a voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized yesterday on the school premises of Hooghly Brajabala Girls' High School in solemn commemoration of its 75th Foundation Day. The philanthropic initiative was arranged in joint collaboration with the District Red Cross Society and the Blood Transfusion Department of Chinsurah Imambara Sadar Hospital.

The camp was formally inaugurated at 9:30 AM in the tastefully decorated school auditorium by the local Block Development Officer (BDO) alongside the respected Headmistress, who lit the ceremonial lamp. A proficient medical team comprising four senior doctors, six technicians, and nursing volunteers managed the proceedings with clinical precision. Prior to donation, every prospective donor underwent stringent physiological screenings, including blood pressure monitoring, hemoglobin tests, and medical history verification.

The camp witnessed overwhelming enthusiasm from school teachers, non-teaching staff, former students, and benevolent guardians. Student volunteers of Classes 9 and 10 efficiently managed registration and guidance booths. By 3:30 PM, a total of 88 units of blood were safely collected and deposited in specialized temperature-controlled refrigeration units. Every noble donor was provided with nourishing refreshments comprising fruit juice, boiled eggs, and bananas, along with an official donor certification and donor badge. The Chief Medical Officer lauded the institution for cultivating selfless humanitarian compassion among young minds. The memorable event concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
